"I would like to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding." John O'Donohue

"The Water is Our Mother Earth's Blood" Agnes Baker-Pilgrim, Takelma Elder
I am a river person. I have always loved rivers, streams, creeks and beaver ponds. There is nothing better than walking beside or in the middle of a stream, while surrounded by majestic mountains and rolling hills. My most profound healing moments have always been in Nature, beside or in water. It is Blissful.
Water is our greatest nurturer and essential for our survival. We, like the Earth, are composed of over 70% water. Water is healing medicine, just as all the elements of Nature (Earth, Water, Air and Fire). It's sensitive, energetic, flowing, revitalizing, nourishing, wildly enthusiastic, creative or destructive, and yet it can be deeply quiet and calm. All the community of Nature seeks and needs water for life.
Growing up around Beaver Ponds, I found them to be a place of magic and solitude. Beavers find just the right creek or stream, happily chew down timber and create a dam, to control the flow of water, both in the pond and downstream. In an esoteric way, Beavers work with the healing flow and emotional life of individuals and the community, sensing and building what is needed and creating just the right 'Sweetwater'.
Sweetwater is also about learning to create 'sweetness in life', as a hummingbird draws the sweet nectar from a flower in bloom and takes it on its journey. We too can learn to nourish ourselves and others from the genuine spirit, soul and beauty always offered within nature, in it's most humble expression, and Walk a Path of Sweetness in life.
